20 Years of Cycle 4 Sam
Twenty years ago, Cycle 4 Sam began with a 1,000km bike ride from Torquay to Adelaide in memory of Sam Roberts, who was nearly five years old.
What started as a way for Sam's parents, Marty and Michelle, their family and friends to honour Sam's life has grown into an extraordinary community. Over two decades, riders, fundraisers, donors and supporters have come together year after year, raising more than $1 million for the Women's and Children's Hospital Paediatric Palliative Care Service and families facing life-limiting illnesses.
This support has helped fund initiatives that bring comfort, care and connection to families, including Art Therapy, the Sam Roberts Family Care Room, the Laklinyeri Beach House, and Alongside Grief and Loss bereavement care.
As we celebrate 20 years, we celebrate Marty, Michelle, their family, and every rider, fundraiser, donor, supporter and friend who has been part of this remarkable journey. Twenty years on, Sam's legacy continues to bring people together, make a difference, and ensure more families receive the same care and compassion that meant so much to the Roberts family.
