Rohan Wulfric Kakoschke was born with a strong spirit and a gentle heart. He lived for just 25 days -days filled with immense love, quiet courage, and the unwavering support of those around him. 

Throughout his short but deeply meaningful life, Rohan was cared for by the compassionate team at the Women's and Chidren's Hospital. Their kindness gave our family the time and space to hold him,know him, and love him fully. 

In Rohan's memory, we've created The Wolf PupMemorial Fund -inspired by his powerful middle name, Wulfric, which means "wolf ruler" or "strong wolf". Through this fundriser. we aim to honour Rohan's legacy by supporting the incredible care, compassion, and dedication shown by the WCH to families like ours. 

Every donation made is a reflection of Rohan's light -helping to carry his name forward in a way the brings comfort, support, and hope to others.

Maya Comes Home, and Rohan's Legacy Takes Shape

Saturday 16th Aug
After 85 long days in the NICU/SCBU, we are overjoyed to share that Maya has finally come home. Those weeks were filled with ups and downs, but today she is thriving and doing amazingly well. Having her here with us is the most precious gift, and we are soaking in every moment of this new chapter together as a family. 

At the same time, our hearts hold Rohan close. The Wolf Pup Memorial Fund, created in his memory, is our way of carrying his love forward. We are so deeply grateful for the kindness and generosity shown by everyone who has contributed -your support means the world to us.

While we are still finalising how the fund will be directed with the Women's and Children's Hospital Foundation, we are currently exploring the most observed request from NICU/SCBU; a project that aims to improve developmental outcomes for preterm infants by creating the suite of digital physiotherapy support resources. This resource will transform the current "Going Home...What's Next?" booklet into an accessible online platform, offering written guidance, video tutorials, and interactive content that parents can revisit anytime. 

We believe this will make a real difference for families, providing trusted and accessible guidance during what can often feel like an overwhelming journey. We feel honored that Rohan's memory will help bring this project to life. This is the first step of many of the Wolf Pup Memorial Fund, and we are excited to see the impact it will have in years to come.

We’ve Reached $2,000 — Thank You So Much 💛

Thanks to your incredible generosity, The Wolf Pup Fund has now raised over $2,000 in memory of our son, Rohan Wulfric Kakoschke.


From the bottom of our hearts — thank you. Every donation, message, and act of support has meant more than words can express. Knowing that Rohan’s name is bringing light and care to others is something we carry with deep gratitude.


Today, I visited the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation and had the opportunity to speak with the team about how the funds we’re raising might be used. While we haven’t made any final decisions just yet, it was an important step in exploring where Rohan’s legacy can make a meaningful impact.


Whether it helps fund equipment, family support services, or something else entirely, our goal is to support the same kind of compassionate care we received — care that gave us precious time, space, and love with Rohan.


I promise to keep you updated as this journey continues. We want everyone who has donated or shared Rohan’s story to feel part of the impact we’re building together.

P.S. Rohan’s twin sister Maya is now 9 weeks old — 36 weeks corrected gestational age — and she’s thriving in SCBU! On 14/07/25, she reached her 2kg milestone and has just begun her breastfeeding journey with Mum. We’re so proud of her, and grateful for each day!
