For families with children in hospital, every day is a countdown, not just to going home, but to getting back to the moments that make life feel normal.

Jude is a joyful five-year-old with an infectious smile. He might not use words, but he shows you exactly who he is through laughter, determination, and the way he lights up around the people he loves.

At home, Jude’s favourite moments are simple, bouncing on the trampoline, watching The Wiggles, and sitting on the couch with his family cheering on the Crows.

But for families like Jude’s, time in hospital means putting those moments on hold, waiting to go home, and waiting to get back to what matters most.

Right now, you can help change that.

Will you kick a goal today and help kids like Jude get back to the moments they love?

Peter Kittle Toyota and UNIFIED Solar Solutions are kicking it off in style by matching your donation!

Jude lives with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, cortical vision impairment, intellectual disability, and is non-speaking, due to complications from meningitis and sepsis when he was just 24 days old. He also underwent open-heart surgery as a baby for congenital heart disease.

The Women’s and Children’s Hospital has been a constant in his life.

Jude has spent time in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Rose Ward and continues to return regularly for appointments, therapies, and care. “We cannot thank the hospital team enough,” Tara says. “They didn’t just care for Jude, they cared for us.”

One moment stands out clearly for Tara. Late one afternoon, Jude deteriorated and was moved to Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). His parents were told he would be flown interstate the next morning for life-saving heart surgery. “Before we left, his paediatrician came to see us,” Tara recalls. “She hugged us. She cried with us. That kindness meant everything in that moment.”
