Cycle 4 Sam is a major community fundraising event led by Marty and Michelle Roberts in support of the Sam Roberts Family Fund at the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation.

It is dedicated to the memory of their son, Sam Roberts, who passed away on April 19, 2005 at the age of 4 years 10 months.

Since then, the Roberts family have raised close to $1 million for the WCH Foundation to support families like theirs who are going through the challenges of caring for a critically ill child.

The event began as a charity bike ride held every two years. Since 2006, more than $900,000 has been raised for this family fund in support of the Paediatric Palliative Care Service at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

This year, we’d love for you to join us for our Cycle 4 Sam Spring Challenge! Choose any personal challenge and sign up to be part of our incredible Cycle 4 Sam community. If we reach our fundraising goal of $18,385 we will achieve the incredible milestone of having raised ONE MILLION DOLLARS to support children and families being cared for by our Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

  • Cycle 4 Sam proudly supports families in South Australia who have children with rare life limiting illnesses being cared for by the Paediatric Palliative Care Service of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
  • In 2024 we are also excited to announce our support for the Alongside: Grief and Loss program, a new bereavement care initiative supporting all families at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital experiencing the death of a child.
