💙 In Loving Memory of Lorenzo Hogan 💙
Our Story
On 14th November 2024 our beautiful baby Lorenzo Hogan was born with multiple health issues. Genetic testing later revealed he had Trisomy 13, a condition that made it unlikely he would survive to his first birthday.
From his sixth day of life, the WCH Foundation’s Paediatric Palliative Care team and the Grief and Loss Support team walked beside us. Thanks to their compassion, expertise, and family-focused support, we were able to make the most of the 46 precious days we had with our son—creating memories, feeling supported with genuine care.
After Lorenzo’s passing, we were encouraged by our palliative care nurse to spend time at the WCH Foundation's Laklinyeri Beach House. It was such an important time for us. It gave us space and time to be together and honour Lorenzo.
The ongoing support we have received from the grief and loss support team has been fundamental in helping us navigate the loss of our son. A pivotal role in helping us has been our Art Therapist providing support for us and our 2 other boys.
In honour of our Lorenzo’s first birthday, we want to celebrate his life and legacy of love and give back so that many other families who find themselves in our situation can be supported just like we have been.
We are raising funds to help the WCH Foundation continue this essential work for other families facing unthinkable situations. Every donation, big or small, honours Lorenzo’s memory and helps provide comfort and care when it’s needed most. It would mean so much if you could help us honour Lorenzo by sharing this page with your friends, family, and community.
Thank you so much for your support!
