There are a million reasons to get involved in the Cycle 4 Sam Spring Challenge this year!

Since 2006, the Cycle 4 Sam community has raised almost $1 million for the Women's & Children's Hospital Foundation's Sam Roberts Family Fund.

With a particular focus on supporting families under the care of the Paediatric Palliative Care Service, key funded projects have included: support for a Art Therapist, the construction of the Sam Roberts Family Care Room, and support for the Laklinyeri Beach House.

The Sam Roberts Family Fund will now contribute to the Alongside: Grief and Loss Program, a new initiative aimed at providing bereavement care and support for families experiencing the loss of a child.

Sam's legacy

Cycle 4 Sam is inspired by Sam Roberts and the incredible legacy his family have created since he sadly passed at four years old from a very rare, neurological degenerative condition called Niemann-Pick Disease Type C. Since then, the Roberts family have raised close to $1 million for the WCH Foundation to support families like theirs who are going through the challenges of having a sick child in hospital.

Sam's parents, Marty and Michelle, wanted anyone, anywhere to be able to take on a challenge of their choice to support sick kids and their families.

The funds raised by the Roberts family have supported children and families cared for by the Hospital’s Paediatric Palliative Care Service.
