Spring Challenge 2025

I'm challenging myself to ride 125km on October 25

In honour of Sam on his 25th birthday, I am taking on the Spring Challenge this October to support children and families at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital going through the toughest of times.

Funds raised through my challenge will provide bereavement care and wraparound support to families in our community who are facing the heartbreak of losing a child.

Thank you for supporting my Spring Challenge!

My Updates

Spring Challenge Week 4

Monday 27th Oct
3 rides this week totalling 195km and 700km for the month of October.
The past week was wet so had to be strategic to avoid the rain!
Now have completed 8 of the 10 Norton rides and yesterday completed the 125km Willunga Hill Loop from Adelaide with my great mate Jaimie Holland. Departing at 6.30am on Sunday, we arrived at McLaren Flat 50km later at 845am for coffee, then summited Willunga Hill at 10.00am.
We returned to Adelaide via the Coast to Vines bike path. All up 131km, 1500m elevation climbed in just under 6 hours moving time. A great day on the bike.

With 5 days left in the Challenge, I have 2 Norton Summit climbs to go.

Thanks to everyone for your support and kindness towards this amazing cause. ❤️🙏

Spring Challenge Week 3

Sunday 19th Oct
Back at work this week but managed 135km on the bike.
This week training rides included a dawn Norton Summit, a Norton/ Montacute Road Loop,  and Seacliff via Norton/Mount Lofty and Belair.
500km ridden now for October and 6 days to go before the big 125km ride to Willunga  Hill next Saturday.

Spring Challenge Week 2

Sunday 12th Oct
This week 225km were cycled.
Encounter Bay bike path, Linear Park to Athelstone, Greenway bikeway to Outer Harbour, and Adelaide Hills to Uraidla. 3 of 10 climbs up Norton Summit also completed in approx. 25 minutes.
Preparation on track for 125km to Wilunga Hill on October 25.

Spring Challenge Week 1

Wednesday 8th Oct
Week 1 of the Challenge took Michelle and I to Auburn in the Clare Valley to get some much needed training in.
We rode the Rattler Trail, the Riesling Trail, and part of the Mawson Trail near Burra.
All up, we rode 250km on gravel roads this week on our gravel bikes. Highlight was the Midnight Oil House just out of Burra on the Mawson Trail surrounded by canola.
